ILOILO City – Six grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately P41,000 were recovered from a Dueñas municipal government job hire in the town’s Barangay Poblacion.

Traffic enforcer alias “Atan,” a resident of the village, was caught on Saturday, June 29, for selling suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer for P3,500.

Captain Jesus Batilante of the Dueñas Municipal Police Station (MPS), before his arrest the suspect was under surveillance for almost a month after police received reports of his illegal activity.

“Before his arrest, we conducted a test buy, but he was too elusive until we collared him on Saturday,” Batilante said.

The police chief said the suspect was allegedly operating in the Dueñas and neighboring towns.

Colonel Bayani Razalan, officer-in-charge of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), congratulated his men for responding to his call to intensify antidrug operations in their area of assignment.

He was also thankful for the  community’s continued support  in the campaign against illegal drugs in the province.

“Your untiring efforts to stop the proliferation of illegal drugs in your area are commendable. I am also delighted with the vigilance and courage of the Ilonggos in unmasking the personalities involved in illegal drugs in their community regardless of their status,” Razalan added./PN
