Dumalag man stabbed in brgy disco

CAPIZ – A 47-year-old man was stabbed by a tanod during a barangay disco around 10:50 p.m. on May 18 in Barangay Angub, Cuartero town.

Johnny Cayanan, a resident of Barangay Sto. Niño, Dumalag town, sustained stab wounds on his chest and abdomen.

Police said the victim was first taken to the Dao District Hospital but later transferred to the Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital.

Police Captain Alladen Talaban, chief of the Cuartero Municipal Police Station (MPS), said while Cayanan was dancing, he was suddenly approached and stabbed multiple times by the suspect identified as Raul Dequiña, 50, and a resident of Barangay Angub.

Talaban, in a local radio interview, said the victim was allegedly inebriated.

The suspect was taken into custody by the Cuartero MPS for proper disposition./PN
