ILOILO City – Dumangas showed its dominance in the volleyball event of the 1st Province of Iloilo Sports Developmental League by winning three championships on Sunday at the Iloilo Sports Complex.

The squad first won the U-13 girls volleyball event where it defeated Passi team.

It later bagged the U-18 boys and girls volleyball championship at the expense of Bingawan.

Meanwhile Bingawan salvaged a volleyball trophy when it ruled the U-13 boys event by beating Miag-ao in the one-game championship match.

In basketball, Alimodian Warbles cruised to the championship round of the U-13 boys event after scoring a 48-31 victory over Cabatuan in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon.

Deshawn Jude Alamodin led the way with double-double 14 points and 17 rebounds for Warbles, which was set to face the Jose Emmanuel Pet-led Pototan squad in the gold medal game late Sunday.

From a slim 7-6 advantage in the opening quarter, Warbles started to pull away in the second frame behind Alamodin before building a double-digit advantage in the second half./PN
