Dumangas stabbing suspect named

ILOILO – The Dumangas Municipal Police Station (MPS) has named a suspect in the death of a fishpond caretaker in Sitio Bulod 2, Barangay Pulao, Dumangas, Iloilo.

Suspect Bryan Echalar, alias “Nognog”, 36, was a resident of Bulod 2, Barangay Cansilayan, Dumangas, Iloilo, according to Police Master Sergeant Ramon Baylon Jr. of the Dumangas MPS.

Echalar allegedly got into a fight with victim Allan Jhay Insular Adorador, 33, after the suspect destroyed the victim’s barn on June 25.

The suspect’s father told the Dumangas police that Echalar allegedly admitted the killing when he went home around 11:45 p.m. on June 29 before immediately leaving.

“Wala pa naton ma-ascertain kung diin ang possible niya nga ginpalagyuhan pero according sa iya tatay, basi nakapuli ini sa lugar ni tatay niya sa may Igbaras but to be confirmed pa,” said Baylon.

A DNA matching was also done on the blood samples of the victim and the recovered clothes of the suspect with blood stains.

Adorador was found with multiple stab wounds in a nipa hut on Friday morning, June 30.

“Possible kun maka-build up na kita sang case against sa iya pagakasuhan naton ini sang murder,” Baylon added./PN
