ILOILO – A town in Iloilo is accepting a kilo of trash in exchange for a kilo of rice.
The local government of Dumangas on Wednesday launched “Basura baylo bugas” to help with the solid waste management in the province.
The town hall opened its lobby area to accommodate residents who wanted to swap their trash.
Mayor Onal Golez said the collected waste will be shredded and mixed with cement to be used as foot walks and for other beautification infrastructures in the town.(With a report from ABS-CBN News/PN)
