ROXAS City – The Liga ng mga Barangay Provincial Federation has a new president.
Querubin Pamplona – municipal Liga president of Dumarao, Capiz – won against former provincial Liga president Lilia Demalata in a 15-2 vote during Monday’s election at Island’s Hotel in Barangay Lawaan.
“Wala ako nag-expect nga makakuha ako sang kapin sa 15 ka boto,” Pamplona told Panay News.
Pamplona, now the village chief of Barangay Sibariwan in Dumarao, has served three terms as a member of the Sangguniang Bayan and one term as vice mayor in the town.
Other provincial Liga officials elected were Ronilo Badoles of Panay as vice president, Gerundio Villeza of Jamindan as auditor, and Christopher Boot of Cuartero, Gina Yelo of Sapian, Jenofer Alovera of Maayon, Neda Diaz of Mambusao, Nico Yap of Ivisan, and Loreto Jore of Sigma as directors.
An oath-taking ceremony followed the election that was administered by the Department of Interior and Local Government in Capiz headed by Director Ace Azarcon./PN
