BACOLOD City – Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) director Police Colonel Noel Aliño believes the dumped bodies recently discovered in barangays Cabug and Felisa were killed somewhere else.
Commanders of the 10 police stations in the city reported back to Aliño that they did not have missing persons in their respective areas.
However, the BCPO director further ordered the station commanders to verify with barangay officials.
Outgoing Police Regional Office 6 director Police Brigadier General Leo Francisco also placed the city police to a higher degree of alertness. He ordered increased police visibility as well as mobile and foot patrols 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Police have also begun regularly inspecting open drainage systems along the Bacolod Economic Highway.
Last week, the BCPO announced that it would create a special taskforce to probe the dumping of human remains and severed body parts.
It is not ruling out the possibility that a vigilante group may be operating in the metro./PN
