ILOILO City – Filipino “dunk artist” David Carlos will take his talents to this province as he competes in two slam dunk competitions that are set to be held at the University of San Agustin Gym in Iloilo City and in the City of Passi Arena later this month.
Carlos will be one of the participants that will compete in the Slam Dunk competitions, which will serve as the sidelights of the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons and San Beda University (SBU) Red Lions’ two exhibition matches on March 14 and 15.

UP and SBU are Ilonggo Sherwin Diama and Manila-based Darwin Cantong.
“We expect it to be an entertaining side event,” said event organizer Rodolfo Go Villaruz. “As we all know, Carlos is a pro dunker, while Cantong and Diama were also good dunkers, so we expect it to be a competitive but entertaining at the same time.”
The event organizer added that he has invited judges to score the Slam Dunk competition, and that the winner will receive a cash prize courtesy of Toto Tia Ten Trucking.
The Fighting Maroons-Red Lions games are presented by Slam N’ Jam Sports Management. Ticket prices are as follows: P1,000 for courtside, P500 for lower box, P200 in mid area and P50 in general admission.
