MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has put up a P30,000 reward for those who can provide information on corrupt practices by local officials in connection with the government’s assistance amid the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque announced Tuesday those who will report corrupt practices of public officials involving the Social Amelioration Program (SAP) funds may call at 8888 and leave relevant information.
President Duterte went ballistic during his address to the public on late Monday evening as he singled out Barangay San Agustin in Hagonoy, Bulacan captain Danilo Flores for corrupting the SAP funds.
“Local government workers, I do not want to mention titles here, meron sinabi ko na sainyo na pag may gawin kayo, ‘wag sa panahong ito,” Duterte said. “‘Yung mga mayors naman, kindly look into the people that you have commissioned to do the distributions ng pera.”/PN
