MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has issued a stern warning to the police:
“‘Pag may nakita ako ng putang inang presohan diyan na may cellphone, ipapakain ko iyan sa inyo,” said Duterte during his speech at the annual San Beda Grand Law Homecoming recently.
The President said that inmates continue their illegal transactions via cellular phones.
In his testimony at the House probe on the alleged illegal drugs trade inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), convicted kidnapper-murderer Nonilo Arile, former Manila policeman, said that transactions involving illegal drugs were done by using mobile phones.
While signal jammers have been installed at the national penitentiary, these are switched off at the cost of P100,000 a week, according to convicted kidnapper and drug lord Jaybee Sebastian.
“‘Pag hindi mo hinampas iyan sa ulo nila they could not come to their senses because of money. Madali eh,” Duterte said.
Drug personalities, he also claimed, are now resorting to kidnapping following the supply reduction of illegal drugs.
“Makita mo naghirap na ngayon ang supply. Anong ginagawa ng mga gagong ito? Bumabalik doon sa holdap, may kidnap na naman,” Duterte said./PN
