MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte’s trust rating dropped three percentage points to 76 percent, according to the Social Weather Stations (SWS).
Still, public trust in the President, who was waging a war on drugs, remains “excellent,” an SWS survey showed.
Duterte received “at least +70” across all areas except in Balance Luzon.
He rated highest in Mindanao with +92, followed by Metro Manila, +76. In Visayas, he got a net trust rating of +73.
His trust ratings were also “excellent” in all socioeconomic classes except in class E, where he posted “very good,” or +67, the survey showed.
A total of 1,200 respondents were surveyed from Sept. 24 to 27.
Malacañang communications chief Martin Andanar welcomed the ratings.
It was an affirmation of the public’s faith and confidence in Duterte’s leadership, he said on Tuesday.
According to Andanar, the rating drop did not reflect a change in the sentiments of Filipinos.
“President Duterte maintained his excellent trust ratings for two consecutive quarters,” he said. “This will further motivate his administration to continue what he started in his first 100 days — fighting illegal drugs and crimes, combating terrorism, curbing corruption, and sustaining the momentum of economic growth.”/PN
