President Rodrigo Duterte receives his initial dose of the China-made Sinopharm vaccine against coronavirus disease 2019.
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III personally administered his anti-coronavirus jab around 7 p.m. at the Malacanang Palace.
“I feel good and I have been expecting this shot, vaccination a long time ago,” Duterte said in a Facebook live video of Senator Christopher “Bong” Go.
Go later told the media that Duterte’s inoculation of the Sinopharm vaccine had the blessing of the chief executive’s doctors.
The 76-year-old Duterte, who has underlying health issues, belongs to the groups vulnerable of developing severe symptoms of the respiratory disease.
