Duterte supporters in NegOcc hold caravan for his birthday

BACOLOD City – Supporters of former president Rodrigo Duterte in Negros Occidental will gather for a caravan dubbed as “Global Tribute to Tatay Digong” to celebrate his 80th birthday today.

The organizing group, FPRRD Diehard Supporters, is also calling for Duterte’s return to the Philippines.

On March 11, Duterte was arrested at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport and flown on the same day to The Hague, Netherlands, where he is currently being held pending his trial for crimes against humanity allegedly committed during his administration’s drug war.

The group’s spokesperson who asked not to be identified said the caravan will cover a 100-kilometer drive from Bacolod City to Kabankalan City. It will kick off at 12 noon on Araneta Street along the old airport in Barangay Singcang and depart for southern Negros at 2 p.m.

“Other diehard supporters of Tatay Digong are invited to join. This will be a peaceful show of support to FPRRD. Those from Bacolod and nearby cities and towns can assemble at the old airport area, while those in the southern parts of Negros Occidental may opt to wait for the caravan to pass by and join,” the group said.

It added: “Let’s celebrate together with a prayer vigil for Tatay Digong and family Duterte with our battlecry, ‘bring back home FPRRD.’”/PN
