Duterte’s improving ratings slap to admin’s critics, says Palace

MANILA – A slap in the face of critics and detractors was how the Malacañang described the improved Social Weathers Stations (SWS) net satisfaction rating of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Presidential spokesperson Salvador Panelo hopes that the 74 percent satisfaction rating of President Duterte during 2018’s last quarter will silence the critics of Duterte’s style of governance.

“The support of the Filipinos for our Chief Executive also sends a strong message to foreign human rights groups and foreign governments to put a stop to their baseless and unkind accusations on his war on drugs,” Panelo said in a statement sent to media.

“In addition, the survey result is a slap on their faces for their outrageous intrusion on the sovereignty of our country and also put a lie to critics and detractors who find nothing good in his style of governance,” he added.

“The approbation of a great majority of our people only encouraged the President to continue waging battles against all forms of criminality and corruption,” the Palace spokesperson said.

Based on the latest SWS survey released on Friday, there was a four-point in rise in the president’s fourth quarter-2018 net satisfaction rating. The uptick was registered among all socio-economic classes.

The nationwide survey conducted from December 16 to 19 used face-to-face interviews with 1,440 adults aged 18 years-old and above (360 each from Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao).

It used sampling error margins of ±2.6 percent for national percentages, and ±5 percent each for Balance Luzon, Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao. The survey was not commissioned./PN
