ILOILO City – A senior citizen tagged as a high-value target was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Brgy. El 98, Jaro district here on Saturday morning, Sept. 17.
E-tricycle driver Luther Jaleco, 64, and a resident of the said village, yielded 26 sachets of suspected shabu weighing two grams and valued at around P13,600.
Officers of the Iloilo City Police Office – City Drug Enforcement Unit also confiscated the P1,000 in buy-bust money and other non-drug items.
According to Police Lt. Marlon Perez, team leader of the City Drug Enforcement Unit, they have been monitoring Jaleco for more than three months.
“Sa amon pag-monitor sa iya mga three months gid bag-o nag-conduct kag sa amon imbestigasyon ginagamit lang sini nga patalang ang pagbyahe sang e-trike,” Perez said.
He added that Jaleco was previously arrested by the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit in 2018 and was released from prison in 2019.
The suspect was detained at the Jaro Police Station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
