Eagles club delivers help to residents in Pinamuk-an

NEW WASHINGTON, Aklan – The Fraternal Order of Eagles (Philippine Eagles) Aklan Golden Salakot Eagles Club  (GSEC) – Western Visayas Region has brought so much joy to residents in Barangay Pinamuk-an, New Washington, Aklan.

On February 5, 2022, the socio-civic organization in Aklan loaded 150 family food packs in a banca from New Washington Port in Poblacion to Pinamuk-an for a 10-minute trip to District 3.

Each family food pack contains cans of sardines and corned beef, kilos of rice, and sachets of instant coffee and cereal milk.

Aklan GSEC president Woody Lacanaria said the hearts of Eagles are with the families and children of Pinamuk-an who were reeling from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic.

Some 100 children also received snacks from partner organizations.  One couple was so inspired by the Eagles’ advocacy that they brought their two children to Vicente M. Reyes Multi-purpose pavement despite wind and rain.

Ibajay town mayor Jose Enrique Miraflores and the Kuya Noy Project Silak group of Sangguniang Bayan member Roly Equina also assisted in the humanitarian efforts to help residents in Pinamuk-an.

Lacanaria stressed the first Eagles club in the province is committed to this mission in New Washington to bring in help to individuals and families at a crucial time.

“We persevered with the weather today. We are always guided by our principle – service through strong brotherhood – in helping the communities get through this pandemic,” he added.
