ANTIQUE β The Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) in San Jose de Buenavista town is offering free breast cancer screening for women, available from Monday to Saturday.
The screening aims to facilitate early detection of breast cancer, especially for women at risk or showing early symptoms. The process begins with the collection of basic personal information, followed by physician evaluation, which may include referrals for x-ray procedures and scheduling of follow-up medical treatment.
Dr. Karen Delgado, resident physician at the ASMGH Cancer Unit, emphasized that the service is free of charge, made possible through the Department of Healthβs (DOH) Cancer Assistance Fund.
The fund covers the cost of a sonomammogram, an essential tool in the early detection of breast cancer.
The Provincial Government of Antique also encourages interested individuals to proceed to the hospital’s Outpatient Department (OPD), where they will receive guidance throughout the screening process./PN
