ILOILO – Over 150 houses in the province were damaged by heavy rains and strong winds brought by the southwest monsoon, or habagat, enhanced by Typhoon “Egay”, data from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region 6 showed.
As of 8 a.m. yesterday, July 27, there were 133 partially damaged houses and 20 totally damaged. Below is the breakdown per municipality.
* Anini-y – one (partially damaged)
* Barbaza – four (partially damaged)
* Belison – one (partially damaged)
* Culasi – four (partially damaged)
* Hamtic – eight (partially damaged)
* San Jose de Buenavista – 32 (two totally damaged, 30 partially damaged)
* San Remigio – 89 (18 totally damaged, 71 partially damaged)
* Sibalom – 11 (partially damaged)
* Tobias Fornier – two (partially damaged)
* Valderrama – one (partially damaged)
Heavy rains also flooded 98 barangays, affecting 1,905 families or 6,883 individuals.

* Barbaza (26 barangays) – 419 families or 1,504 individuals
* Belison (two barangays) – two families or six individuals
* Bugasong (six barangays) – 303 families or 1,149 individuals
* Laua-an (seven barangays) – 71 families or 410 individuals
* San Remigio (15 barangays) – 156 families or 709 individuals
* Sibalom (two barangays) – 14 families or 62 individuals
* Tobias Fornier (six barangays) – 33 families or 130 individuals
* Valderrama (three barangays) – 10 families or 38 individuals
* San Jose de Buenavista (eight barangays) – 79 families or 331 individuals
* Culasi (seven barangays) – 301 families or 689 individuals
* Hamtic (five barangays) – 23 families or 79 individuals
* Sebaste (three barangays) – 451 families or 1,627 individuals
The Antique Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) also logged the initial damage to agriculture at P200,000 in Patnongon.
Five barangays in the town reported agricultural damage, including Barangay Cuyapiao (three hectares of corn), barangays Igbobon, Alvaniz, and Poblacion (one hectare of corn each), and Barangay Mabasa (four hectares of corn).
