CAIRO – Egypt closed polling stations on Sunday evening after conclusion of the second stage of parliamentary elections.

The country is now preparing for run-offs scheduled for November and December before the new parliamentarians take oath of office in January.

The second stage of parliamentary elections was held in 13 provinces including Cairo.

More than 4,000 candidates are vying in the polls.
