Elected officials of Roxas City, Capiz take oath of office

ROXAS City – Newly elected officials of Roxas City and the province of Capiz took their oath of office yesterday, the first day of their service for their new terms.

Gov. Fredenel “Oto” Castro was the one who administered the oath of office of second-termer Roxas City mayor Ronnie Dadivas and Vice Mayor Teresa Almalbis in front of the Roxas City Hall.

Also inaugurated were city councilors Dr. Pip Acepcion, Jaime Altavas, JP Arcenas, Atty. Paul Baticados, Rey Magallanes, Atty. Gary Potato, Herbert Koks Chu, and Bordz Viterbo.

Castro administered the oath of office of Roxas City officials after he and other provincial officials such as Vice Gov. James Magbanua, Capiz 1st District’s Rep. Emmanuel Tawe Billones, Capiz 2nd District’s Rep.  Jane Castro and the Board Member had their oath of office earlier at the provincial capitol.

Dadivas, for his part, thanked the people of Roxas, especially the 65,127 residents, for their continued trust and confidence to lead the city.

“My Roxas City Family, bilang amay sang aton syudad makasalig kamo nga sa masunod nga tatlo ka tuig padayon ang pag-ulingag, pag-atipan kag pagsalum sa inyo kinahanglanon sa kutob sa akon masarangan,” he said.

“Butangan naton sang imahen nga mapabugal ang Capiz kag Roxas City because this time we are united,” he added.

Majority of the winning candidates last May elections in the province and Roxas City belong to Liberal Party.

“Luyag ko man ipaabot ang pagpasalamat sa kay former Secretary Mar Roxas kag Judy Araneta Roxas sa padayon nga suporta kag pagbulig sa aton syudad sa tion sang aton pagkinahanglan,” he added.

Castro, meanwhile, is confident that his administration will be fruitful, citing the unity of the local officials and the people.

Castro emphasized that officials could not be successful in all their undertakings without the unity of the people.

 “Kamo ang amon agalon. Indi ako. I am simply your governor,” he told the audience during his inaugural speech./PN
