Election gun ban: BCPO seizes 9 guns, 19 bullets

BACOLOD City – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has seized nine firearms and 19 bullets from Jan. 13 to 24.

Six BCPO-initiated operations in line with the election gun ban which began Jan. 13 led to the apprehension of eight individuals, who were now facing complaints.

Aside from the seized weapons, BCPO spokesman Chief Inspector Ariel Pico said a total of three firearms were also turned over to them.

The licenses of these guns were pending renewal, he added.

Pico stressed that the BCPO has “fully implemented” the gun ban when it started last week.

He added that city police force has been doubling its efforts to rid the city of loose guns./PN
