During the recent World Ocean Day celebration, Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo’s team visited the community to demonstrate their sustainable crab-picking methods. They listened to the local fishermen’s stories, learned about their hard work, dreams, and aspirations. In support of their advocacy, “Salbaron ang Industriya sang Kasag” (Saving the Crab Industry campaign), Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo committed to preserving the marine biodiversity of the Visayan Sea thus supporting the families who depend on it. A notable achievement in this effort was receiving global recognition from Marriott International APEC besting [number of hotels or countries], alongside partners such as Better Seafood Philippines, USAID, BFAR VI, and Agrodigital, for their sustainable initiatives.
