Elsa Droga, brother named first ‘The Kids’ Choice’ grand winner

WHILE they obviously could not control the results because it was done through live voting, the decision to get Vice Ganda to announce the grand winner sort of foretold the likely outcome.

In the end, it was aspiring comedian Elsa Droga, a good friend of the “It’s Showtime” host, who was voted as the overall winner of “The Kids’ Choice,” it was revealed in the show’s finale on Sunday.

Earlier in the live episode, Droga and his younger brother got a standing ovation for a slapstick-centric skit that had him repeatedly fail the acrobatic things they wanted to do, and concluded with him jumping through a flaming hoop.

Asked if he had any injuries afterwards, Droga said: “Okay lang, basta maraming kaming napasaya na tao.”

And it turned out that a lot really enjoyed their performance, as their duo got a whopping 69.53 percent of the total votes, while the second highest got barely 7 percent.

Droga and his brother won P500,000 as their prize.

Prior to the reveal of the results, Vice Ganda joked that he was announcing the winner of “Miss Q&A,” an “It’s Showtime” segment that Droga joined before but failed to win.

Parang premonition iyong pagbanggit ko ng ‘Miss Q&A’ kanina,” Vice Ganda said as he congratulated Droga.

Droga has already guested on Vice Ganda’s talk show, “Gandang Gabi Vice.”

During his appearance, Vice Ganda admitted that Droga’s performance during the “Miss Q&A” finale made him emotional because he saw his friend’s determination to win. (ABS-CBN)
