Embiid scores a winner, 76ers surges to 3-0

ONTARIO – Joel Embiid drilled a game-winner as Philadelphia 76ers surged to a 104-101 overtime win against Toronto Raptors in Game 3 of the NBA Eastern Conference first round playoffs on Wednesday night (Thursday in the Philippines) at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto.

Embiid drained the go-ahead triple with 0.8 seconds left in the extension period to break the 101-all tie and moved the 76ers one win closer to the second round of the playoffs.

Embiid finished the match with 33 points, including three outside conversions, to go with 13 rebounds, two assists, one block and six turnovers to lead the 76ers.

James Harden added 19 points, 10 assists and six rebounds, while Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris chipped in 19 and 11 markers, respectively, for Philadelphia.

OJ Anunoby led the Raptors’ offense with 26 points, with four outside conversions, while Gary Trent Jr. and Precious Achiuwa added 24 and 20 markers, respectively.

DeMar DeRozan came up with a timely basket as the Chicago Bulls holds off Milwaukee Bucks, 114-110, in Game 2 of their NBA Eastern Conference first round series at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The veteran forward came up with consecutive free throws and a crucial jumper with under a minute left to surge the Bulls ahead at 112-109 and tie their best-of-seven series at 1-1.

DeRozan finished with playoffs career-high 41 points, Nikola Vucevic had double-double 23 points and 13 rebounds, while Zach LaVine contributed 20 markers for the Bulls.

In other results, Boston Celtics took a 2-0 lead in their East series with a 114-107 beating of Brooklyn Nets, while Miami Heat hacked out a 115-105 triumph over Atlanta Hawks to go up 2-0.

New Orleans Pelicans stuns Phoenix Suns in Game 2, 125-114, to level their West series score at 1-1, while Memphis Grizzlies also tied Minnesota Timberwolves at 1-1 after a 124-96 Game 2 win.
