EOC warns public vs new COVID cases in Bacolod

BACOLOD City –The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) here reminded the public anew to observe minimum health standards to curb the spread of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

A surge in cases has been observed recently, according to city administrator Em Ang.

“From an average of only two cases a day since February, it’s up to 16 cases today (March 17),” she said.

On March 16, the city logged nine coronavirus cases – three of which were locally stranded individuals and two were authorized persons outside of residence, Ang disclosed.

She advised the public to keep their facemasks on, observe physical distancing and wash hands frequently.

In another development, in compliance with Resolution 101 of the National Inter-Agency Task Force, all travelers bound for this city are required to sign up via https://s-pass.ph/ prior to their travel.

Councilor Cindy Rojas, chairperson of the action team on non-overseas Filipino workers, advised all returning residents to secure an S-Pass permit.

This will be presented upon arrival in all airports, seaports and bus terminals, Rojas said.

Travelers are also required to submit negative results of their reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction tests 72 hours prior to travel./PN
