Estancia drug sting nets P1.53-M ‘shabu,’ three peddlers

ILOILO – Law enforcement agencies apprehended three suspects and seized suspected shabu valued at around P1,530,000 in Estancia town.

Approximately 225 grams of suspected shabu were confiscated during the operation at around 10:58 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9.

The suspects were identified as alias “Lester,” 32, and categorized as a high-value target; alias “Joeffry,” 45; and alias “Salmar,” 31. All are residents of Estancia.

The operation was headed by the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6, Estancia Municipal Police Station, the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, and the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company.

Western Visayas’ top cop, Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, commended the operatives, saying, “I am deeply grateful for your recent successful drug buy-bust operation. Let this success inspire us to safeguard our communities and exert more effort to defeat the menace of illegal drugs.”

Currently, the apprehended suspects are under the custody of the Estancia police and are set to face charges for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
