ILOILO – Special investigation task group (SITG) “Palibosfer” hit more roadblocks in its probe of the killing of three young businessmen in Estancia town.
Its luminol tests for possible blood traces on Sept. 28 at the ice plant and house of survivor Jevron Parohinog in Barangay Calumpang, Estancia yielded negative results.
The tests were conducted in those locations because the SITG formed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) was leaning on the possibility that there was not just one crime scene – the sport utility vehicle (SUV) where the victims were found dead in Barangay Panian, Estancia on Sept. 14.
The SUV was also subjected to the test. Aside from the visible bloodstains, probers found blood splatters on the right and second row of the passenger seat and on the ceiling of the vehicle.
SITG spokesperson Police Master Sergeant Francisco Lindero Jr. said probers would continue scouting for more information about where victims Jan Paul Mark Bosque, Mark Clarenz Libao, Chrysler Floyd Fernandes, and survivor Parohinog may have been before the crime and these areas would also be subjected to luminol test.
Aside from the negative luminol tests, the SITG also discovered that the dashboard camera of the SUV – an Isuzu MUX – was not working and thus failed to record the shooting.
The SITG submitted the camera to the Regional Anti-Cybercrime Unit of the Police Regional Office 6 in the hope of finding more clues as what really happened.
Survivor Parohinog told the police that gunmen attacked them. He said he was the one driving the SUV owned by Bosque when they were shot.
Last week, the SITG said it was planning to secure a cyber warrant from the court so it could examine Parohinog’s mobile phone as part of its ongoing investigation./PN
