ILOILO – A recent joint police operation resulted in the apprehension of a high-value drug suspect and the confiscation of P5,508,000 worth of suspected shabu in Estancia, Iloilo.

Suspect Jorene Boledo, a 44-year-old resident of Barangay Daanbanwa, Estancia was arrested at approximately 8:50 p.m. on February 28 by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Drug Enforcement Unit and the Estancia Municipal Police Station.

Boledo was apprehended after she allegedly sold the illegal substance valued at P1,000 to an undercover police officer.

Law enforcers seized a total of 13 large and five small heat-sealed plastic sachets, believed to be containing shabu, all weighing approximately 810 grams. These have been submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit 6 for laboratory examination.

In addition to the suspected narcotics, authorities confiscated buy-bust money and various non-drug-related items.

Major Rolando Araño, IPPO spokesperson, disclosed that Boledo has been on the province’s watchlist since last year for allegedly distributing illegal drugs in Estancia town and the neighboring areas.

The arrested person also allegedly obtained her supplies from Roxas City, Capiz.

Bolego is set to face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
