BACOLOD City – Barangay Estefania was declared this year’s champion in the Ruby MassKara Festival Street and Arena Dance Competition, Barangay Category – besting 13 other competing groups.
Barangay Tangub was first runner-up; Barangays 16, second runner-up; Barangay Banago, third runner-up, and Barangay Bata, fourth runner-up.
Aside from the championship, Estefania won Best in Concept and Choreography.
Barangay Tangub reaped three special awards – Best in Original Music, Best in Costume and Best in Mask.
Barangay Category contenders performed Sunday, the last day of the 21-day festival. The winners were announced in the evening. Other participating barangays were Handumanan, 4, 5, 3, 32, 39, 6, and 40.
Each performers received P250,000 financial assistance from the city government./PN
