ILOILO – Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. approved the requests of Vice President Leni Robredo and Mayor Sara Duterte to hold campaign sorties in this province.
“Of course, everybody is welcome diri sa provincial government. Ang tanan nga mga kandidato pareho naton nga ginabaton kon magpalapit diri sa aton opisina, kapartido man ukon indi,” he stressed.
Robredo, who is running for president, is holding a grand rally at the Iloilo Sports Complex in La Paz district on Feb. 25. She will be with her running mate, Sen. Francis Pangilinan.
Robredo will also have stops in the towns of Oton, Santa Barbara, Pototan, Ajuy, and Concepcion.
For the campaign of Duterte on Feb. 24, Defensor also approved the request to use the entrance gate and space area of the capitol along Bonifacio Drive, Iloilo City as a venue for the welcome area.
Duterte will be with his presidential candidate Ferdinand Marcos Jr. They will have a rally at the Tamasak Arena & Football Field in Barotac Nuevo town beginning at around 4 p.m.
Defensor urged the supporters of candidates to observe the minimum health standards – wearing of facemask and face shield, hand disinfection, and physical distancing.
“Sundon anay naton ang resolution sang Comelec kag i-angut sa aton EO 40. Let’s go back to the basic. I know that’s not easy especially sa election nga nagakampanya pero tinguhaan gid naton kag ayuon ang bulig sang tanan nga kandidato kag sa mga pumoluyo nga kon magtipon kita sundon lang tani ang basic,” said Defensor./PN
