CAPIZ – The former police director of Capiz is seeking an elective post.
Retired police colonel Julio Gustilo Jr. is running for Provincial Board member representing Capiz’s 2nd District.
He filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) last week stating he belonged to the ruling PDP-Laban.
Gustilo retired from the police service two months ago.
On Facebook, Gustilo stated he would focus on peace and development.
He vowed to continue supporting the project he pioneered at the Capiz Police Provincial Office – the “Bahay at Kabuhayan Nila Handog Namin Bahaynihan”. Under this program, indigent beneficiaries are built decent houses through the help of various stakeholders.
With its positive impact on the lives of the poor, “Bahaynihan” was dubbed a “best practice” of the CPPO recognized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) national headquarters and the Police Regional Office 6.
Gustilo received a citation from PNP director General Guillermo Eleazar last week./PN
