ILOILO City — An ex-convict is wanted for shooting to death a barangay councilman Tuesday in the village of Acuit, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
Freddie Gereno disappeared after shooting to death 35-year-old Chrisler John Estelo.
Estelo was watching a pool game when Gereno shot him from behind four times, witnesses said.
Estelo succumb to gunshot wounds on the head and body, said Insp. Marvin Balmes, Barotac Nuevo police chief.
The shooting happened around 3:30 p.m.
“We are now coordinating with the family and relatives of the suspect. We hope he would surrender,” Balmes said.
According to the victim’s mother Melinda, Gereno was suspicious that Estelo and his live-in partner Vicvic were having an affair.
