Ex-convict yields P2.4-M ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – An ex-convict was arrested on Tuesday night. He yielded P2.4-million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Igang, Pototan, Iloilo.

Ryan Ace Jallorina, 41, was a resident of Barangay San Jose, Pototan. He was taken to the municipal police station.

The buy-bust was carried out at around 11:55 p.m. by operatives of the Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU), Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

There were 48 sachets recovered.

The suspect was deemed a high-value target, said Police Lieutenant Colonel Mark Anthony Darroca of RDEU Region 6.

Jallorina was arrested sometime in 2009 for a drug case, but he was released from jail sometime on December 2020. 

His mode of transaction is through texts and chats.

So far, this was the biggest seizure of illegal drugs this year in Iloilo, according to Police Brigadier General Flynn Dongbo, Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director.

The suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
