ILOILO City – A former member of the Philippine National Police was arrested in a drug operation in Barangay Siempreviva, San Dionisio, Iloilo on Sunday.
Police Corporal “Jim,” a resident of the same place, was arrested at 2:20 p.m. after selling to a poseur buyer illegal drugs worth P3,500.
Recoveries from the suspect include 14 pieces of big sachets of suspected shabu weighing 55 grams and with a street value of P374,000.
“Jim” was monitored engaging in illicit drug activity for almost three months, operating in the municipality of San Dionisio and neighboring towns.
The alleged source of his drugs was Roxas City in Capiz province.
The suspect was dismissed from service in 2017 due to being absent without official leave.
“Based sa amon information, kilo ang iya na order from Roxas City and Iloilo City. Amo na iya ginakuhaan sang items,” Police Major Francis Albert Fortunado of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office said.
He will be facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
