HE ONCE said that he joined “Pinoy Big Brother” to proudly represent gay people and to discourage the bullying of young LGBT members, an experience he could all too easily have drawn from memory.
And it looks like it all worked out for Ryan James Bacalla, despite being evicted early in the 2015 edition of the reality show, as it appears he is now able to truly flaunt his sexuality.
A post on Facebook documenting his “transformation” from a smiling kid from Cebu to someone one could mistake for a girl has gone viral, with many expressing their surprise and support.
“OMG! Hi guys! Nagising ako sa sobrang ingay ng phone ko andami ko na pala notifs,” an overwhelemd Bacalla wrote in the comments. “Thank you for this. Hihi. I did not expect this at all.”
Bacalla became known when he joined “Pinoy Big Brother” in 2015, the same season that featured Bailey May and Ylona Garcia.
Unlike those two, however, Bacalla decided not to pursue a showbiz career and finished his studies in his hometown. He is currently a student at the Southwestern University in Cebu.
Before entering “Pinoy Big Brother,” he acknowledged that he was a victim of bullying and teasing just because he was gay. He also shared that his sexuality strained his relationship with own father. (ABS-CBN)
