ILOILO City – Two former officials of the local government of Santa Barbara, Iloilo have been arrested, a police report showed.
But former municipal engineer Noel Jaspe, 49, and former municipal budget officer Ma. Negenia Araneta, 64, later posted bail, police said.
They were charged with violation of the Government Procurement Reform Act and the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act.
Officers from the Santa Barbara police station served them a warrant of arrest at around 11 a.m. on Feb. 5 on GMTD Street, Barangay Zone 2 in the town, police said.
The Sandiganbayan issued the warrant on Jan. 11.
The anti-graft court set their bail bond at P30,000 each.
Jaspe is a resident of Barangay Cabugao Sur, Santa Barbara while Araneta is from Barangay Poblacion, New Lucena./PN
