MANILA – F2 Logistics Cargo Movers made an immediate impact in the Philippine Superliga All-Filipino Conference by sweeping Generika-Ayala Lifesavers, 25-12, 25-21, 25-17, on Saturday at San Juan Arena.
Ilongga Abigail Maraño delivered 15 points off nine spikes, five blocks and a service ace, while Victorinara Galang has double-double 11 points and 11 digs for the Cargo Movers.
After an easy win in the first set, the Cargo Movers was forced into tight match by the Lifesavers late in the second set with the former holding to a 19-18 lead before Maraño and Galang towed their team for a two-set lead.
The Cargo Movers waxed hot in the third for an 18-11 spread before the Lifesavers scored four straight points to make it a three-point game. But F2 came up with a finishing run, capped by back-to-back hits by Ilongga Aduke Ogunsaya, to seal the win.
“This is a good start for us. We took advantage of Generika’s first game jitters as they still lack in team gelling. Most of the teams in the first game won’t be on its top form due to jitters,” said Cargo Movers head coach Ramil de Jesus.
Ilongga Fiola Ceballos was the lone bright spot with 10 points while libero Kath Arado had 17 digs and seven excellent receptions for the Lifesavers.
Meanwhile, Sta. Lucia Lady Realtors spoiled the debut of Marinerang Pilipina Lady Skippers with a 25-23, 25-22, 25-23 straight set triumph to kick off its campaign on a high note.
Filipino-American Marjana Philips tallied 22 points and 16 digs, while Pamela Lastimosa and Amanda Villanueva chipped in 11 points apiece while Rachel Austero added 10 markers for the Lady Realtors./PN
