MANILA – F2 Logistics Cargo Movers stretched its winning run in the 2018 Philippine Superliga All Filipino Conference with a 25-22, 23-25, 25-14, 25-17 rout of Cignal HD Spikers at the Bacoor Strike Gym in Bacoor, Cavite.
Victorinara Galang led the way with double-double 18 points and 10 excellent receptions on Thursday.
Mary Joy Baron added 16 markers on eight kills, five blocks and three aces for the Cargo Movers, which improved to 7-2 win-loss slate.
Cha Cruz-Behag also finished with double-double 12 points and 23 digs while Kim Fajardo made 45 excellent sets.
The Cargo Movers continued to play minus Kim Kianna Dy due to knee soreness.
“I’m happy even if we lost the second set. I saw the determination of my players to win the game,” F2 Logistics head coach Ramil de Jesus said. “Even if we’re not complete, they were composed.”
Mylene Paat had 18 points while Rachel Anne Daquis delivered double-double 15 hits and 15 excellent receptions for the HD Spikers, which dropped to a 4-5 card after suffering its second straight loss.
Meanwhile, Smart Giga Hitters bucked the absence of several key players to notch its first back-to-back wins in this conference after a 25-21, 25-19, 25-18 sweep of Foton Tornadoes.
Despite missing setter Jasmine Nabor and middle blockers Celine Domingo and Czarina Carandang due to their respective academic commitments, the Giga Hitters were still too much for the Tornadoes for a 4-5 win-loss slate.
Aiko Urdas led the way with 18 points, on 16 attacks and two service aces, while Gretchel Soltones and Jerilli Malabanan added 13 and 12 markers, respectively, for the Giga Hitters./PN
