ROXAS City – The use of face shield in public places here is now voluntary effective Nov. 18.
City COVID-19 Command Center Coordinator Ronald Amigo issued a public advisory regarding this.
In lifting the mandatory use of face shield, Amigo cited the following:
* the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Resolution No. 148-D, series of 2021 dated Nov. 11, 2021 which puts Roxas City and the province of Capiz under Alert Level 2
* the Memorandum from the Executive Secretary dated Nov. 15, 2021 on Protocols on the Use of Face Shields, which allowed those under Alert Levels 3, 2, 1 the use of face shield as voluntary; and
* Section 10 of Roxas City Ordinance No. 017*2020, as amended by Roxas City Ordinance 044-2020.
However, Amigo emphasized that the use of face shields is still mandatory in medical and quarantine setting, and in healthcare settings.
To note, other provinces and cities in Western Visayas like Iloilo City and provinces already lifted the mandatory use of facilities except in hospitals and other healthcare settings./PN
