ILOILO City – A drunken man introduced himself as a police officer and bodyguard of the Garin family in Barangay Sto. Niño Norte, Arevalo on Friday night.
Personnel from the district’s police station arrested the 32-year-old Christopher Fuentes, resident of Barangay Inalala, Cabatuan, Iloilo.
Fuentes faced a physical injury charge after he punched the 32-year-old Gilbert Alimanza twice on the face around 11 p.m. on Dec. 28, a police report showed.
Alimaza – a resident of Barangay Toog, Leon, Iloilo – said Fuentes hit him without provocation as he introduced himself as a police officer.
Fuentes resisted arrest, saying: “Paano mo ko dakpon kay Interpol ako. Five years ako security guard ni Garin.”
Police officers brought Fuentes to the Arevalo police station where he was detained.
Aside from physical injury, Fuentes also faces charges for alarm and scandal, disobedience to lawful order, and resisting arrest./PN
