“I saw him selling at the sidewalk on Sept. 4,” she said in Filipino. “He told me he was getting his supply direct from a company. I never thought the products were fake. My mother once bought soap from him, too, and we’ve been using them.”
“I asked him if I could buy in bulk so I could sell them in Boracay,” said Marticio. “Among his products were Silka, Safeguard, Head and Shoulders, and Palmolive.”
She bought from Osorio products worth P13,235 on Sept. 7 and sold them to retail stores in the island resort.
“A friend complained to me and said one of the soap I sold them had a different odor and color,” said Marticio.
On Sept. 13, Marticio reported to the Boracay Tourist Assistance Center.
Later, police hatched an entrapment to be staged in Purok 3 at the C. Laserna area here.
Marticio participated, pretending to buy P6,400 worth of products.
