BACOLOD City — Two houses in Barangay Sum-ag here were damaged after trees fell on them Sunday afternoon.
City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office head Rufino Alcala said the houses are owned by de la Cruz and Celiz families at El Claro Street, Barangay Sum-ag.
Alcala said a boy was trapped inside the Celiz family’s house but was immediately rescued.
Typhoon “Luis” hit several areas in Luzon and left the country yesterday.
He said despite not having storm signal here, the wind was strong enough to topple the trees.
Department of Social and Services Development head Pacita Tero said she is waiting for an official report of the incident to process financial assistance.
Tero said the families will receive P3,000 each./PN
