BACOLOD City – A family problem was seen as the reason that a man in Barangay Blumentritt, Murcia, Negros Occidental killed himself, police said.
Clark Genodiala, 24, was found dead on his bedroom floor on Wednesday, a police report showed.
Investigators said Genodiala shot himself in the mouth using a .45 pistol, which was found next to the body.
Genodiala graduated with a marine transportation degree from a school in Cebu City. His cousins told the police he was having a personal problem.
Genodiala was taken to the Rural Health Unit in Murcia where an attending physician pronounced him dead.
Police said the family members heard a gunshot at around 3:30 p.m. that day before discovering Genodiala’s body.
Officers were still investigating the death. Aside from the Caspian gun loaded with three bullets, police recovered next to the body an empty shell and a deformed slug.
Genodiala’s mother was currently in Metro Manila processing the death benefits of his father, who died in November last year. (With Cyrus Garde/PN)
