CAPIZ – A farmer in Mambusao town was found dead after being allegedly attacked by two siblings in Barangay Maralag around 1:25 a.m. on Jan. 28.
The victim was known as “Joan,” 46, while the suspects were identified as “Albert,” 34, and “Joemer,” 36, both residents of the said barangay.
According to information from the Mambusao Municipal Police Station, the incident started with a conflict between the suspects and the victim outside a local store.
The victim allegedly consumed liquor before the altercation.
As “Joan” was about to return home on his tricycle, he was suddenly confronted and assaulted by the suspects.
He was later found covered in blood while the suspects quickly fled.
The victim was rushed to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians.
The local police immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation, which led to the arrest of the two suspects along with the recovery of the weapons allegedly used.
Currently, the police are continuing their investigation while the suspects are under the custody of the Mambusao police./PN
