BACOLOD City – A total of 23 farmer and fisherfolk associations in Bago City, Negros Occidental received a sustainable livelihood assistance.
The city government, through the Office of the City Agriculturist, turned over the Bagonhon Women in Agriculture: A Sustainable Livelihood Assistance to Farmers, Fisherfolk and Rural Women under 2024 GAD (gender and development) Fund Project to the beneficiaries last week.
“This initiative is a testament to our commitment to gender equality and community empowerment, and providing new opportunities for sustainable income and growth,” according to the Office of the City Agriculturist.
Among the beneficiaries are the following:
* Hacienderos Agrarian Reform Cooperative – received a P20,000 seed capital for its meat processing project, one aluminum pressure cooker, one piece inverter chest freezer, and one piece meat grinder;
* APABCO Farmer’s Association – got P20,000 capital for its food production project;
* CAN-ITOM Integrated Fisherfolks Association – received P50,000 seed money for its fish vending (10 weighing scales and 10 banyeras);
* Bago Integrated Farmer Workers Association – received P30,000 seed money for its vegetable production project;
* Barangay Bagroy Irrigators Association Inc. – got P20,000 for its tailoring project (one heavy duty sewing machine and one manual sewing machine);
* Purok Katubuhan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Association – P20,000 for its food production project; and
* Small Farmers Association of Barangays Abuanan, Dulao, and Atipuluan – P30,000 seed money for its banana chip production project./PN
