BACOLOD City – A farmer was hacked around 9:15 a.m. on Thursday in Purok Ipil-Ipil, Spur 13 in Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto town, Negros Occidental.
Eusebio Cauntao Abada, 48, sustained knife wounds on his left hand and left leg. He was brought to the Dr. Pablo Torre Medical Center in Bacolod City, formerly Riverside Medical Center.
The police named two suspects – Jerson Abada Cabillon, 29, and brother Danilo, 35.
The brothers were cousins of Abada, police said.
Abada was applying fertilizer to his sugarcane plantation when suddenly the suspects confronted the victim, initial investigation showed.
A heated argument resulted to the hacking.
Jerson was armed with a bolo, police said.
The suspects were arrested by policemen and detained./PN
