Farmer hurt in Antique stabbing

ANTIQUE – A 37-year-old man sustained wounds on his leg and face following a stabbing incident around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6 in Barangay General Luna, San Remegio town.

The victim was identified as farmer Jomarie Aurelio while the suspects were barangay tanods aliases “Ed” and “Boy”, all residents of the aforementioned barangay.

According to the investigation of the San Remigio Municipal Police Station (MPS), Boy and Aurelio were patching up a recent misunderstanding when a heated argument again ensued between them.

Police said Boy pulled out a gun and tried to shoot Aurelio but the gun jammed.

The victim then tried to grab the gun from Boy but he was hacked by Ed.

Jomarie was immediately brought by his brother to the town’s Rural Health Unit but was transferred to Ramon Maza Sr. Memorial District Hospital in Sibalom town for proper treatment.

Police officers arrested the two tanods who are now under the custody of the San Remigio MPS for proper disposition./PN
