CAPIZ – A 56-year-old farmer was shot dead in Sitio Banahoy, Barangay San Juan, Jamindan, Capiz, around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5.
Jerry M. Lorenzo was a native of the village. He was on his way home from his ginger farm when shot, initial investigation of the Jamindan police showed.
As of this writing, no suspects have been identified.
Lorenzo succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.
Authorities believe a homemade 12-gauge shotgun and a .45 caliber pistol were used on Lorenzo.
According to his family, Lorenzo’s P18,000 cash was also missing. It was his earnings from selling ginger earlier in the day.
