BACOLOD City – He was inside a cockpit in Purok Luwag, Barangay Locotan, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental when he was shot to death, a police report showed.
The 49-year-old Barangay Bantayan, Kabankalan City resident Mario Marana died of multiple gunshot wounds on the body, police said.
Marana was pronounced “dead on arrival” at the Lorenzo D. Zayco District Hospital in Kabanakalan City.
The shooting happened around 3 p.m. on Friday, the report stated. Marana was engaging in a cockfight at the time.
The lone gunman, who fled after the shooting, was unidentified as of this writing.
