Fatal motorcycle crash claims Antique teen’s life

SAN JOSE, Antique – A motorcycle crash resulted in the death of a 15-year-old boy and left another young man critically injured early Wednesday morning in Barangay Centro Norte, Pandan, Antique.

The deceased was identified as Ian Kurt Candari, who was operating the motorcycle that crashed against an electric pole owned by Aklan Electric Cooperative (AKELCO) at approximately 12:10 a.m.

His passenger, John Cedric Candari, 20, also from Barangay Buang in Pandan, remains unconscious and is under medical care.

Authorities reported that the victims were traveling from Barangay Baybay and struck the electric post along the national road.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) promptly responded to the incident and transported the victims to the Justice Calixto Zaldivar Memorial Hospital.

Ian Kurt was pronounced dead on arrival due to a severe head injury. John Cedric is slated for transfer to a hospital in the province of Aklan for further treatment./PN
